With the soulful side of dubstep as a guide, this mix wanders off the deep end to its smiling conclusion. This one was recorded during one of my first performances at FUSION art | wine | jazz. By incorporating diverse sounds from under the broad umbrella (pun intended… the ceiling was covered with them!) of downtempo, trip-hop and acid jazz, this lounge mix set the mood for relaxation and conversation on a chilly winter’s night. Acting as the follow-up to the more sombre ‘Underneath The Weight Of The World’, this mix was a snapshot of the peaceful island in the storm I inhabited for the few years following the previous recording. Underneath The Weight Of The World

Description
Even with the morose title and my dismal emotional state at the time of its creation, this introspective mix has served me well as a positive meditation tool over the years. Originally performed live about a month earlier at Therapy Sessions with a different intro (DJ Shadow’s ‘Transmission 2′), I recorded this mix (on cassette tape) when I came across the old Patsy Cline 45rpm in a box of my mother’s old records. That oddly appropriate skip was a fitting intro for the time period. Enjoy and share!
