This genre-bending downtempo set was inspired by my first journey to San Francisco. Chock full of tunes from Bay area artists and balanced out with some oldie-but-goodies, this mix was a headphone soundtrack for my big-city explorations.
Inspired by the Om Records WMC 2008 event at Karu & Y in Miami, this Nu Jazz mix is the first that I've recorded to make the demo rounds. Part love, part struggle, and jazz through and through... there's a definite lounge vibe on this one.
This was my WMC 2008 drum and bass mix, and it made the rounds as a 100 unit limited release cd. This mix really nails what I've been feeling for the past few years... liquid funk at it's finest. And yes, that is me on the cover, circa 1975!
This one takes me back to my early days fresh out of high school. From hip-hop to dancehall to soul, this one is a head-bobbing romp thru the early '90s.
As an all-vinyl set compiled mostly of production and remix talent from the Americas, this set employs some seriously deep house tactics to a soulful end. Definitely a good mix for creating a lounge atmosphere.
